I can find very little information on
this publisher. The first printing of their first book (Let's Make
Mary) was unnumbered. It was printed in 1948. Afterwards, books were numbered consecutively, and there was no differentiation in
numbering between their 25¢ and higher-priced
volumes.
The highest
numbered book in the Hillman series is #205, printed in 1961. There were a
few lettered books ("SP," "C," & "F"), which were not interspersed
numerically.
Their mix of
books ran the entire gamut, from Sci-Fi to cartoon books to romance. Lots
of westerns. Sleaze books were also plentiful. Cover art tended to be
extremely good, since they hired some of the period's top artists.
